To view click here DRAW 21/6/08 Manchester Open Pool Championships 2008/2009 Entries are now being taken for this the premier singles league competition in the area. With a prize fund in excess of £1,500 on offer for a measly £25 entry fee this years event is sure to fill up fast. Be quick to avoid missing out! 30/10/07 Manchester Pool Series Grand Final Details have now been released about the forthcoming Pool Series Grand Final. All existing tourers who entered this year but have failed to make the top 16 can enter the plate competition £10 entry Best of 9's. Visit the home page for more details
14/10/07 08/10/07 Manchester Open Draw The draw for the Manchester Open pool championships took place today view here In group A we have last years semi finalist gareth Owen, the much fancied Paul Pickering, 2005 champion and reigning plate winner Steve Gough and england trialist Dave Shand amongst others. Group B meanwhile brings together two veterans of the manchester pool circuit in Mark Beeson and Harry Roberts. Having won the open on two previous occasion Beeson is the man on fire at the moment and is sure to fancy his chances. The two Paul's Harrison and Wood will also be expected to also qualify from the group Group C see 2006 champion and last years runner up Kevin Holland match up with the ever dangerous Jason King along with plate specialist Mark Astbury and highly rated newcomer Paul Tickle. Last years champion Matt Brierley drew the short straw in arguably the toughest group, group D. He will be joined by 5 times runner up Lee Mitchell 2004 semi-finalist Jim Morris and the newly capped welsh international Dave Roblin 03/10/07 MIXED RESULTS FOR GMC COUNTY TEAMS County pride was at stake when the GMC teams took on West Yorkshire at Prestwich last month. After a great start by the A team in the 1st session, the game finished 22-22, with Mark Astbury holding his nerve to clinch the last game and a deserved draw. Ian McMullan on his A team debut was man of the match with a 3 out of 4, which included a DOB against former World Champion Chris Melling. However, the B team couldn’t re-produce their recent good form and slipped to a 25-19 defeat, and will be looking to bounce back against Cumbria in October. The ladies also lost 25-19 and will be looking for a big win in October. 03/10/07 BRIERS ROMPS ROCHDALE SINGLES LEAGUE II Matt Brierley claimed the Rochdale Singles League II title on the 23rd Sept, making up for missing out 1st time around in the final. Matt beat Steve Hartley 9-1 in the final to claim the £700 1st prize. Earlier Steve Hartley had defeated reigning champ Kevin Holland in a nail biting deciding frame to win 7-6 in the Quarter Finals. While other Quarter Final losers included Dave Shand, Paul Hagan and Ady Brown. Losing Semi Finalists were Steve Beaumont and Harry Roberts, who on another day could well have made the final. 2/10/07 NEW WORLD RULES LEAGUE ANNOUNCED

playing area. GMC COUNTY TEAMS SUFFER TRIPLE BLOW Yesterdays county fixtures saw all 3 GMC county teams suffer narrow defeats against local rivals Lancashire. After a solid start a 2nd session collapse by the A side contributed towards a 25-19 loss against the 2005 and 2006 national champions. A last session fightback from Lancs saw the B side slip to a 24-20 loss having been, at one point, 18-14 up. The ladies meanwhile managed a respectable 29-15 loss having looked dead and buried at 19-8. Region 2- League tables Mens rankings Ladies rankings Junior rankings 12/8/07 MANCHESTER OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007-08 DETAILS ENTRY FORM Entries are now being taken for this the premier singles league competition in the area. With an anticipated maximum of 64 entries expected, this years event is sure to fill up fast. To date with less than 8 weeks to go before the deadline we are well on track to fill up. Be quick to avoid missing out! Download an entry form now! FAMOUS FIVE POOL COMPETITION Congratulations go to 'Warrington Wires' who upset all the odds and took the gold in this 5 man event. The prize fund of £900 had attracted no fewer than 8 teams to this event organised by our very own Kevin Holland. The wires a team of so called 'has beens' along with the youthful Paul Pickering stole the show at Rochdale's Normans Snooker club by beating the 'Chorlton Children' 13-7 in the final. Chorlton had looked odds on to take victory in the final after destoying the pre tournament favourites 'Rochdale Aces' 13-3 in the semis but the wires had other ideas and sailed to victory with veteran Gary Price clinching the vital frame. Results 9/8/07 NEW TEAMS WANTED! The Oldham Pool League is to hold its A.G.M. on Tuesday 28th August at the Britannia, Hollins Road, Oldham at 8:30pm.
